Denise Rude returns to the Vikings coaching staff for her sixth season in 2020. Rude was a two-year starting defender for the first years of Coach Lyngholm’s tenure at Bethany. She then transitioned into a coaching role with the program and made an immediate impression with the team. In 2010, she helped lead the Vikings to a 13-6-2 program record and the 9th single best season turn-around in NCAA DIII women’s soccer. Coach Rude is an avid Crossfitter and is instrumental in team fitness and conditioning.
Aside from coaching, Coach Rude has studied and taught English in locations such as Chile, South Korea, and Thailand. She currently resides in Madison Lake with her husband Ian and teaches English at Cambria Manufacturing in Le Sueur.
Assistant Coach | Goalkeepers
Ryan Bolte returns for his sixth full season as an assistant with the women’s soccer program in 2020. After a distinguished playing career at Bethany, the Colorado native joined the men’s coaching staff in 2015 and helped lead the team to a UMAC playoff appearance and the team’s first postseason victory in over a decade. He began assisting the women’s program with recruiting in 2016 and will continue to work with both the men’s and the women’s programs this fall.
Bolte was a four-year letterwinner with the Bethany men’s program between 2010-13. As a goalkeeper, he helped lead the team to playoff appearances in three of his four years. Bolte is a 2014 graduate of Bethany Lutheran College with a degree in Exercise Science. He currently resides in Burnsville with his wife Katelyn and their son Lincoln.
